By registering for a Music Together® class, you are agreeing to the following policies:

Attendance/Make-Up Classes:

  • Arrival: We will be singing, playing, dancing and enjoying Music Together® for 45 minutes. Please arrive a few minutes early so you and your child/children have time to settle into the environment and chat with other classmates before we begin. If you arrive late (we all have those days!), please join us in progress.

  • Absence: If you need to miss a class due to illness, vacation, or other reasons, please let us know via e-mail or text. If your child is sick, please consider staying home to protect everyone’s immune systems, especially our young students.

  • No-Refunds for Missed Classes: If you miss a class, you will not be refunded monetarily for the missed class. You will be offered a make-up class. It is your responsibility to schedule this make-up class.

  • Make-Up Classes: If you need to make-up a class, please email musicinthebeathive@gmail.com or text 770-744-2298. You are welcome to make-up a class during any other regularly scheduled class in the same semester. It is your responsibility to schedule this make-up class.

  • Cancelled Classes: If a class is cancelled by the teacher due to illness/emergency/weather, every effort will be made to add an additional class at the end of the semester. Alternatively, families are welcome to schedule a make-up class during the current semester or a future semester to make-up for the cancelled class.

Phone Use:

  • Phone Calls: Please refrain from taking phone calls and texting during class.

  • Pictures/Videos: Photos of your child are fine (when appropriate), but please do not take photos or videos of other families unless they have given you consent. Everyone has different comfort levels with photos online, so please respect the privacy of other families.

Participation:

  • Adult Participation: You are your child's most important role model, so they will learn best by watching and listening to you. Your participation is key to your child developing a love of music, regardless of your own music skills. Even if you don’t think of yourself as a singer, your child is learning so much from you. It doesn’t matter how you sound; to your kids, your voice is their favorite. Demonstrating joyful participation is the best way to encourage our kids to try it too.

  • Child Participation: Many children choose to observe more often than they participate actively in class (especially at the beginning!). You may see your child exploring the room or watching others rather than actively joining in. Then, later at home or on your drive home, you might hear them try out the songs. They are taking in information from class and waiting until they are in a more familiar environment to try it out. So don’t be discouraged if your child isn’t actively participating in class, they are likely learning in their own special way! It is all a process and every child processes differently! We embrace all different styles of learning.

Withdrawals:

  • Withdrawing: While it is our hope that every registered student is able to attend class, we understand that a withdrawal may be needed. If you need to withdraw, please email musicinthebeathive@gmail.com or text/call 770-744-2298 to talk with Ms Meghan. Refund and credit policies are outlined below based on the time of withdrawal.

  • 1 Week (Or More) Before The First Class: If you wish to withdraw from class, you may do so 7 days before the start date of your class for a refund. You will be refunded your tuition amount, minus a $15 fee, to your original form of payment.

  • Less Than 1 Week Before The First Class: If you wish to withdraw from class, but it is less than a week before the first day of your class, you will be given monetary credit towards a future semester of music classes with Music in The Beat Hive. You will be credited your tuition amount, minus a $15 fee.

  • After the First Class: If you wish to withdraw after the first class, no refunds are offered, but you will be given monetary credit (minus service and class fees) towards a future semester of music classes with Music in The Beat Hive. Currently, credit is given at a rate of $18 per class for the classes you will not attend. This will be maintained in our office and a code will be shared with you to apply to a future order. When you are ready to use this credit, please apply the code at checkout or contact Ms Meghan.

    • For example, if you have signed up for a 12 week semester and cancel after 2 classes, you will be credited for 10 remaining classes at $18 a class. This is a total credit of $180.

  • No Show: If you do not attend classes and do not communicate with Ms. Meghan, you will automatically be given credit towards future classes and will not receive your songbook and class materials for the given semester. Credit is $18 per missed class and will be offered via a code to apply towards a future payment of classes.
